Congratulations to all involved in the delivery of The Burrell Renaissance project. The £68m revitalisation project of The Burrell Collection celebrated double success at the British construction industry awards on 12th October, securing awards for Project of the Year, and Cultural and Leisure Project of the Year.
The Burrell Renaissance project was funded by Glasgow City Council, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Scottish Government and UK Government, and from many trusts and private donors. The aim of the project was to modernise the building to increase gallery space and safeguard the museum for the future. It provides the museum with the opportunity to redisplay and reinterpret the collection, revealing many wonderful and new stories about individual objects. This ambitious refurbishment will allow visitors, for the first time, to explore all three floors in the building, set out as galleries, visible stores and special exhibition spaces.
FES was appointed to undertake the complex and specialist Building Engineering Services packages, including Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing installations during the refurbishment and modernisation of the building. Our team is proud to have played a part in bringing this award-winning development to a successful completion.
