FES is delighted to be involved in the delivery of Barclays state-of-the-art financial hub in Tradeston, Glasgow, with the first phase of the campus now officially opened.

The project blends new build spaces with restored historic buildings, Clyde Place House and the BECO building, retaining local industrial history along the Clyde Waterfront.

The Barclays campus will accommodate around 5,000 employees and provide employment opportunities to local people; contributing to the overall regeneration of the area.

The 500,000 sq ft site delivers Grade A office space which will include amenities such as wellbeing facilities, room for community exhibitions and community spaces with street food market.

Building 1 consists of a  -SIX storey office development. The ground floor incorporates a restaurant, assembly space and café. Additionally, the basement houses car parking spaces, including EV charging spaces.

Building 2 provides a -NINE storey office development, including  basement parking spaces, a mix of ancillary support, and amenity spaces at ground floor.

Building 3 over 4 levels incorporates office space, gym, ground floor retail accommodation, and fourth floor hospitality with terraced balcony overlooking the River Clyde. The adjoining Clyde Place House provides additional assembly space for multi use activities.

The offices form part of the wider regeneration project by Drum Group which will provide more than a million square feet of prime Grade A office space, residential accommodation and a mix of local amenities and landscaped public spaces.  The complex is ideally located on the Clyde riverside, facing the International Financial Services District. With direct access to bus, rail, cycle and motorway networks, and only 15 minutes from Glasgow International Airport, the ambitious and dynamic development will activate over a quarter of a mile of river frontage in one of the UK’s most aspirational cities.

FES Delivered the full refurbishment to Prudential’s Lomond View site in 2014.

FES were responsible for the strip out & refurbishment of a 2 storey building to create a 470 person office space including meeting rooms, catering facility & welfare. The project also included HV upgrade and flood prevention works.

Our approach to delivering the works was flexible, accommodating to the needs of the clients day to day business requirements and demands. 

The works were completed using FES in-house staff, with only the flooring and suspended lay-in grid ceiling being subcontracted to a third party. Minimising our need for subcontracting allowed us to coordinate the works more efficiently such that the project was delivered on time, on budget and with a strong focus on health and safety.

FES was appointed to Design, Supply & Install an integrated Audio-Visual Solution for a leading Global Bank.

The concept was to create a feature rich environment that allowed the client to develop and enhance customer spaces through technology. The Technology Solutions Centre also provides a space for software development teams to create and test new mobile banking applications prior to market launch.

The mock spaces that FES created included a local branch, café, home, external street, conference space and general office environment.

FES deployed a Crestron control solution that provided full integration with the Audio Visual, lighting and heating systems to allow control via mobile devices.

Human Interface technology was also deployed to allow developers to explore services that support gesture and voice recognition to allow customers to interact with products more naturally.

FES is proud to have been selected as Main Contractor to deliver a brand new state-of-the-art data centre to support one of the largest universities in the South of England.

The construction of the new Primary Data Centre entailed the redevelopment of an existing building. The existing industrial until built circa 1995 comprised 2×750 m2 halls and 680 m2 office space under a single portal frame roof structure.

The scheme provided a Tier II data centre supporting circa 700 kw IT Load across 73 racks, to be via in row cooling (LCP) rake based units general cooling as otherwise required.

The requirement included: the design, installation and commissioning of all supporting services including HV and LV supplies, UPS, generators, cooling systems, BMS, fire alarm, fire suppression. The ICT specialist fit out was also included as part of the contract and was installed by FES Communications Division.

Building works entailed the construction of new internal structure and compartmentation to form the new data hall and other internal plant areas.  The new operational areas include a ‘disaster recovery room’ and general office accommodation. An external plant compound to house cooling plant, generators, fuel storage and associated supporting equipment was also designed and constructed.

External works also included reconfiguration of the external car park and provision of security elements to protect the new asset. FES provided the full turnkey solution utilising in-house services.

FES was engaged after a two-stage tender process to develop the client’s base-designs, with full responsibility to deliver a new Central Energy Centre within this Corporate Office Estate, with over 3,000 staff in the Wakefield House Building.

The design and build project included the construction of a new Energy Centre within a complex live corporate HQ development.

FES also had responsibility to decommission the existing redundant Energy Centre and carry out a seamless changeover to the new Centre without loss of any Building Services to this critical corporate office complex. As the new Energy Centre was to be located some 500m from the old one, substantial reconfiguration of existing primary and secondary MEP, HVAC and Utility Services was required. All works successfully executed whilst maintaining all Building Services.

All works were successfully delivered without incident or loss of service for the client.
