The New Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Headquarters in Cambuslang is the second largest fire and rescue service in the United Kingdom, and one of the largest in Europe.’
The project created one of the most advanced training centres of any UK Fire & Rescue service when opened. An academic zone within a self-contained building, where fire-fighters and support staff receive training. The building contains a lecturer theatre, conference suite, training and classroom facilities and also a library. With state of the art audio visual and sound equipment installed complete with remote monitoring control providing the same look and feel of end user control.
The scope of services provided on the project was audio visual design, supply and installation.
The works included the design supply and installation of the audiovisual equipment in 10 lecture rooms consisting of Smart Boards with short through projectors, Blu-ray player, amp, ceiling speakers all AV cabling and Crestron room control for all audio visual devices in the room. Crestron room booking system was also installed in the rooms.
FES also designed supplied and installed all audiovisual equipment within the 160 seat auditorium. The auditorium is a three screen theatre which can have any audiovisual input displayed on any screen or all screens. There is a 7.1 surround sound, mixing amp for microphones over the presentation if necessary, Blu-ray, induction loop IR system, IPTV feed, visuliser, smart podium, video conferencing and Crestron control from both a wireless interface at the presentation area and controlled from the control room of the auditorium if required.
