Edinburgh Airport has grown dramatically in size over the years, and numerous items of electrical plant were required to be upgraded in line with current legislation and operational protocols. Initially, the project involved the removal and replacement of Distribution Transformers and below ground Diesel fuel tanks which supplied localised Generators. In addition to these works, the decision was taken to remove and replace the current 15 panel 11kV switchboard which serviced the terminal building and other stakeholder buildings. The project was delivered within schedule, and earned appraisal from airport officials.
