Last night, 23rd March 2023, a new Food Pantry was officially opened at Musselburgh Community Learning Centre. The aim of the pantry is to ensure local families and vulnerable groups are supported during the current cost of living crisis.
The FES FM team providing facilities management services within the Community Learning Centre have collaborated with Councillor Andy Forrest, local government and local charities to realise this important initiative. Our team of janitorial staff, joiners and handy men built the shelving, moved furniture and helped set up the space within the centre. Our Lets Manager working with Volunteer Centre East Lothian to organize volunteers to staff the Food Pantry.
At the beginning of the winter in 2022, the team also supported the creation of a warm space within the centre. The warm space is still open and food pantry clients can enjoy a free tea or coffee provided by FES FM.
Well done to everyone involved.
