The FES Group is a well-established and respected family owned and managed company. We have consistently maintained strong family values and a commitment to, wherever possible, promote and develop talent from within the company.
We are delighted to learn that one of our first year apprentices, Mason Mackintosh, was recently presented with the SECTT 1st Stage Apprentice of the Year award by Forth Valley College. It is testament to Mason’s work ethic and approach to his studies that he achieved this accolade, despite having started his apprenticeship during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The SECTT award recognises electrical apprentices who have attained high standards of academic and technical competence and displayed excellent personal qualities in their education and training as an electrical apprentice.
Mason is upholding a similar set of family values as the third generation of the Mackintosh family to be employed by FES. Mason’s brother has recently completed his apprenticeship with FES. His dad, Derek, has been with FES since starting his own apprenticeship, and is now working as Surveyor within our Communications and Fire and Security division . His granddad, Jim, has recently retired after 34 years of service within our Data Communications team.
As a family run business, our values and ethos on how we treat our people are at the core of everything we do. Apprentices are our future, we are proud of having trained over 1,600 apprentices across various trades to date. Congratulations on your achievement, Mason. We hope you and all FES apprentices continue to succeed in your studies and in your construction industry career.
