On Thursday 18th April, the team from FES Group successfully defended their title as Champions League winners of the National Business Fives charity 5-aside football competition.
The team won through the initial round robin stage to qualify for the Champions league knockouts, going on to win the overall event for the second year in a row.
The full team from FES Group was Alan Joyce, Ryan Brown, Martin Abercromby, Chris Lamont, Paul Allum, Grant Anderson, Chris Blair, James Finlay and Declan Wood.
Chris Lamont earned the coveted trophy for player of the match, in the final, chosen by ambassador, Kenny Miller. His exceptional performance played a pivotal role in guiding the team to victory and securing the prestigious Champions League title. Goalkeeper, Alan Joyce, also conceded just 7 goals throughout the day, including a crucial penalty save in the quarter finals, picking up the Golden Glove award for his efforts.
However, the crowning achievement of the day was the team winning a charity donation of £2,200. This will be split 50/50 between Spifox (raising money for children’s charities in Scotland) and Marie Curie cancer care.
